Administration of estates

Dealing with the estate of a deceased relative or friend can be very distressing. Whether they have died intestate (i.e. without a Will) or with a Will appointing executors, there are certain procedures which need to be followed. We have an experienced team of people who can help you through this difficult time. Maybe a Grant of Probate is required or maybe a Grant of Letters of Administration. Whatever is required we are here to help.

Occasionally, it may be appropriate to execute a Deed of Variation. This is where a beneficiary might prefer to change the way in which they receive their inheritance or where the beneficiary wants to pass the inheritance on to someone else. There are potential tax savings to be made. We can advise you on your options and explain what is involved.

Sometimes disputes can arise. These might be based on an ambiguity in the Will or on a possible claim against the estate where someone hasn’t been provided for. Again, we can help you deal with those situations and as far as possible remove the stress and upset which can arise.
