My specialist area

As a Trainee Solicitor I have yet to qualify into any specialist area. Prior to my Training Contract I spent a year in the firm’s business development team, which gave me a first class insight into how a law firm works as a business.

During my Training Contract to date, I have completed seats in Commercial Property, Commercial Litigation and Employment. I am currently enjoying my third seat in the Insolvency/Sports department.

Highlights of my Training Contract so far have been assisting on various Employment Tribunal claims, advising on a high profile Trade Mark assignment, advising on a British Citizenship application and assisting on both contentious and non-contentious Insolvency matters in relation to Bankruptcy proceedings, Individual Voluntary Arrangements and placing companies into Administration/Liquidation.

What it's like to work at George Davies

George Davies is a great place to work. The people here are friendly, approachable and there is a real team ethos. The firm is forward thinking, has a young outlook and prides itself on giving straight talking advice to its clients.

George Davies also encourages us to get involved in and organise charitable events for the firm’s nominated charities; Street League and Astley Park School. This year I organised and hosted a ladies’ event at Hobbs in Manchester, which attracted over 50 of our clients and contacts and raised in excess of £2,000 for our charities.

What I do when I'm not at work

Music and fashion play a big part in my non-working life. I run a club night in Manchester spinning 60s RnB, Funk, Boogaloo and Rare Soul on original vinyl records. I also enjoy going to the gym, running, playing netball for the firm team, travelling, painting and visiting art galleries.
